Good evening, friends.
I wanted to start by sharing a quick note on how I’m thinking about this site. This is where the work happens — or at least, where you get to see it happen.
The content is not cleaned up, not polished into a finished lesson, but recorded roughly in the order I study things.
That means what you’ll find here isn’t a substitute for what happens when we’re together. It’s what happens before and between…it’s the raw material, the false starts, the resources I mine through to try and unearth something worth discussing. My hope is that letting you see this part of the process does something more than just inform you.
I hope it invites you to keep digging.
A few things to expect as this grows:
- Entries will be uneven and unpolished. Some weeks I’ll have long sections of notes. Other weeks, It may only be one or two sentences. There may be typos. That’s not an error…it’s just what honest study looks like.
- I’ll revise things. If I come back to an earlier passage with a better understanding, I’ll say so here rather than pretending I got it right the first time.
- It will outlast whatever we’re studying right now. When we move past our current study into whatever comes next, this Journal moves with it. Consider this the first entry in what I hope is a very long record.
Thank you for being part of this group, and for giving me a reason to study this way — carefully, and out loud. I hope you’ll come back often, not just to look through what I have shared, but to go further than I did.
